As we were arriving during the busy Milan Furniture Fair week we went to the restaurant beforehand to make a reversion. Was recommended by a local friend in Milan to try La Libera and it was a great choice. Highly recommended to couples, families or groups having a relaxed night out in an old fashioned bistro with its own personality and style. At this stage the restaurant was filling up with a younger trendier crowd and the whole affair moved up a gear to deal seamlessly with this. The service and attention throughout was faultless. The Milan Fashion Week is held twice a year, in spring and fall. One can have a stroll around the famous fashion hub of Milan intensely choc blocked by fashion streets such as Via Monte Napoleone, Via Manzoni, Via della Spiga and Corso Venezia. This celebrity spotting can turn out to be an event in itself as invitation becomes compulsory for the fashion shows. One has to be a royal or celebrity family to visit this event, so mostly you would have to be happy with seeing all the fashion icons mingling on the Milan streets. It is a highly competitive and appreciated industry all around the world and Milan is fondly known as the ‘fashion’ capital of the world. Milan with its tradition in textile industry which goes a long way back, fashion rules the roost. The ‘week’ remains just a keyword search on the search engine as it goes on for more than a week to adjust a few more designers and their collections. This healthy competition of traditional festivals, exhibitions and fashion shows probably starts in February with the inaugural of the Milan Fashion Week. The city supports a very cosmopolitan lifestyle resulting in a very interesting mix where fashion weeks are welcomed with equal rigor and zest as the ‘fiestas’. Milan festivals cannot be tagged as celebration related with religion and traditions. ![]()
